1. About these Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of lighthouseregistry.com (the “Website”), operated by Lighthouse Registry Inc. (“Lighthouse Registry”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

2. The Website and our services

These Terms apply only to the Website. Lighthouse Title Alert and our other services are provided only under a Registration Agreement with us, together with the terms and privacy notices that form part of it. If anything in these Terms conflicts with a Registration Agreement, the Registration Agreement prevails.

Descriptions of our services on the Website are summaries only. They do not form part of any agreement with you and do not oblige us to provide any service.

3. No relationship created

Browsing the Website, joining our waitlist or newsletter, or contacting us by email, telephone, the Contact form or otherwise does not make you a client and does not create any contractual, fiduciary or other legal relationship between you and us. A client relationship begins only when a Registration Agreement has been entered into.

4. Not legal or financial advice

Lighthouse Registry is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Information on the Website, or provided by us through any other channel, is general information only. It is not legal, financial, real estate, tax or other professional advice, and it does not create a lawyer-client relationship, regardless of the professional qualifications of anyone at Lighthouse Registry you communicate with. Please consult a qualified professional about your own circumstances.

5. Accuracy of information

We aim to keep the Website accurate and current, but its content may be incomplete, out of date or contain errors, and may change without notice. Statistics, news reports and other third-party information are presented as published by their sources. You should not rely on the Website as the sole basis for any decision.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Website for any unlawful purpose;
• submit false information, or information about another person without their authority;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to, interfere with or disrupt the Website or the systems that support it; or

You may view, print and share pages of the Website for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not modify them and you keep all copyright and other notices. Any other copying, reproduction, republication, distribution or modification requires our prior written consent.

10. Disclaimer

The Website is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the Website, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability or non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lighthouse Registry Inc. and its directors, officers, employees and agents will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of or inability to use the Website or its content, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. This section does not affect our obligations under a Registration Agreement, which are governed by its own terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date shows when they last changed. If you continue to use the Website after changes are posted, you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Website, except where applicable consumer protection law entitles you to bring proceedings elsewhere.

14. General

If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Our failure to enforce any part of these Terms is not a waiver of it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information collected through the Website.
